We are used to seeing AI generated summaries in web search results. However, many years before these, the statistical big data algorithms, notably Google PageRank meant that search results were so well tuned that for a period Google included an "I feel lucky" botton to take you straight to their top result. In addition, the computational infrastructure and vast information stires, enabled the current wave of AI.
